MIIS Lecture - The 21st Century Clean Energy Grid

Middlebury Institute of International Studies presents a free lecture by Steve Campbell entitled The 21st Century Clean Energy Grid on Tuesday, February 25, at 6pm in Room 100 in the McGowan Building on the campus of MIIS.

Massive and fast-moving developments are underway in the power and transportation sectors of California and across the country. Climate change has arrived more quickly than scientists, risk managers, and city planners predicted. In times of rapid change, the opportunity for a decarbonized and decentralized power grid is upon us. It is also critical that low-income and vulnerable communities participate and realize the benefits that a cleaner future promises.

As a Policy and Business Development Project Manager for GRID, Steve helps manage many of GRID's legislative and regulatory efforts in California to expand access to solar, storage, microgrids, and other clean energy technologies to low-income communities across the state. Previously, Steve worked at the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments developing energy efficiency and clean generation projects for public school districts and municipalities. Steve has also worked for the University of Hawaii Maui and the Center for Sustainable Energy.
